Counselling provides an opportunity for people facing difficult challenges in their lives to talk through their feelings and be empowered to find their own solutions in a safe and relaxed environment and at a pace, they are comfortable with. I listen to people empathetically in a non-judgemental manner to assist them to look at their problems.
I am an integrative counsellor with the person-centred approach as my core theoretical model drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (exploring how thoughts, feelings and behaviours are interconnected through a series of focused, goal-oriented intervention techniques) and elements of Psychodynamic Therapy (exploring childhood experiences that shapes personality in terms of conscious and unconscious desires and/or beliefs).
I counsel adults (18+) and have experience in working with clients with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, loss and bereavement, stress and relationship issues amongst others. I have experience working with brief, short-term therapy of up to 6-10 sessions and more long-term open-ended therapy.
I am a registered member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work to the highest professional standards by the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions
I am covered by professional indemnity insurance and committed to professional supervision and ongoing training.
I work from comfortable counselling rooms based in central Leighton Buzzard and offer a safe, confidential and flexible service to suit the client’s needs.
