A time set aside for you to talk to a trained counsellor in a safe, relaxed, confidential and professional setting about what is causing you distress. It’s a safe space in which you are accepted and held, so you can get in touch with and express innermost feelings. With someone who will listen to you and not judge you, help you gain insights and explore more helpful ways of looking at things. As your counsellor I am here to help you discover strengths you may not have been aware of. I will support you as you walk through changes.
I have lived and worked in the Far East and mainland Europe before coming to the UK. During these years I have rubbed shoulders with people from many cultures and social backgrounds. I’ve faced loneliness, anxiety, low self-esteem and depression – and can relate with clients going through similar transitions. The good news is that it is possible to overcome these hurdles and get to that better place where you can find yourself and live out of the values you hold dear. Before training as a counsellor, part of my work involved facilitating global teams and resolving sometimes hidden conflicts.
How I Work
I use a holistic (integrative) approach, using knowledge and skills that are most relevant to your needs and circumstances. I also incorporate creative techniques and mindfulness as appropriate.
If you find it helpful, we can also explore spirituality and faith.
Selecting a counsellor can be daunting, and so I offer a free 20 minute initial session without obligation, to help you decide whether we can work together. This allows you to get to know me a little, tell me briefly about your background and what brings you to counselling.
