I am an integrative/bereavement counsellor based in London. I work privately on a one to one basis, however I have worked as a volunteer for Lewisham Bereavement Counselling for three years, seeing clients of various age groups and backgrounds. Some clients were seen in their homes, whilst others were seen in a surgery. I also volunteered at St Gabriel’s Secondary School for a year. At the school, I worked with children from different backgrounds and age groups as well, helping them with their academic, behaviour and relationship issues.
I use different approaches to work with clients, such as the Person Centred approach, which is part of the Humanistic approach, CBT, Psychodynamic and some of Gestlat therapy. I am genuine and competent in my work and I use my empathic understanding to be in my client’s world. I also use the unconditional positive regard, to ensure that I treat all clients equally. I help people with different mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, phobias, trauma, post traumatic stress disorder and so on.
I use my active listening and responding skills, to ensure I don’t miss out on what clients say. I ask open ended questions to help my clients probe in deeper and communicate pent up emotions, which might have been stuck for a while.

Additionally, what I love most about my career; is the privilege to have the ability to help people go through difficult times in their lives and come out beautifully whilst they move on positively. I love being a counsellor simply because I love helping and supporting people, It makes the world a better place when more people feel positive and joyful and are able to help, care and support one another.
Everything that is said in the sessions are treated confidentially with a client led approach. My clients needs are prioritised, which means that clients come first, therefore, I am willing to visit female and disabled clients in their homes in order to create the most comfortable and supportive environment.
