ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS
Hello, my name is George and I have been providing my counselling services for over 6 years, offering face to face, telephone and online counselling. Alongside being a counsellor, I have worked within the mental health sector providing mental health & well-being support to the North Somerset Community. The combination of both roles has allowed me to become aware of the network of support within the community of North Somerset and deepened my knowledge of mental health concerns and recovery. I believe that it has helped me to provide the best counselling I can for my clients, and hopefully you too if you decide to start counselling with me.
My counselling office is in Worle, which is in easy travelling distance from Weston-Super-Mare, Clevedon, Portishead and many other areas of North Somerset.
Although I have experience with a wide range of issues that lead people to counselling, I have a particular interest in the following:
- Anxiety and Depression
- Anger Management
- Bereavement and Loss
- Job Concerns
- Low confidence and self worth
- Relationship difficulties
- Understanding & expressing emotions
- Stress (exams, home, work, new job etc…)
My counselling Approach
I offer a humanistic counselling approach, where you are given the time and space to talk about whatever is currently on your mind for us to explore together; this will encourage deeper self-awareness and clarity on current issues, which I believe will enable you to realise the steps needed to change your current circumstances and become aware of how to move forward.
I also integrate other therapeutic approaches into my work when a different approach may feel better suited to your needs. Every client I’ve worked with has brought something unique to them, which is why I approach counselling in this way.
I work from a purpose-built counselling cabin at my home address in Worle. Clients have said to me that having their counselling in this environment has felt really relaxing, it has taken them out of the normal office environment and into a calming space where they feel comfortable to engage in therapy.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and an accredited member of The National Counselling Society (MNCS). I follow their ethical code of practice to ensure my credibility as a professional.
How to get started
I offer an initial 1-hour consultation to discuss your reasons for seeking counselling, to ask any question you may have, and to help you make an informed decision before starting therapy. The consultation is charged at £20 for the hour. The consultation can be done either over the phone at an agreed time, or in my counselling office in Worle, Weston-Super-Mare.
Please have a look at my website www.georgefortunecounselling.co.uk for more information about my counselling approach, answers to frequently asked questions and articles that I have written for clients, which include:
