I qualified as a therapist in 2004 and am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
My aim is to provide a friendly, respectful and non- judgemental safe environment in which you are able to safely explore any issues that might bring you to therapy. I have gained invaluable practical experience from working with people from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
All sessions are client led and my role is to provide clients with space to explore, reflect on their lives, relationships, emotions, feelings or thoughts processes (be it conscious or unconscious material) in an empathetic, non-judgemental and congruent manner.
As stated I qualified as a therapist in 2004 and am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I work with an integrative and person centred approach. This approach can also work well for clients who are experiencing stress and relationship difficulties. I have experience of counselling in many areas including Mental Health, Prisons, Schools, NHS referrals, amongst others.
Trust is crucial in all relationships and through our exploration, we will aim for self-development, enhanced self-esteem and wellbeing.
In both short and longer term work, techniques from a number of theoretical approaches such as psychodynamic and CBT may be used. I work collaboratively, adapting my approach to the needs and objectives of each person.
