The struggles we meet in our lives can become overwhelming; I offer a safe, compassionate space where you can share whatever you are facing and together we can explore your experiences, feelings and choices- helping you to discover your own way forward.
I have a strong practice of careful, deep and empathic listening alongside a gentle belief grounded in experience that as we build trust between us with commitment to the counselling process then real changes gradually grow and unfold. It was through seeking counselling myself and discovering how helpful it became that I chose a vocation in counselling.
I’ve worked with a wide range of different challenges people bring including anxiety, trauma, depression, bereavement, relationship struggles, abuse, OCD, eating disorders, suicidal feelings, mental health difficulties and counselling for self development.
I also offer the opportunity to incorporate Creative Therapy if, when and as you choose. This might involve the use of colour, movement, sound, paint, clay, crafts, sand-play, poetry… whatever you are drawn to that helps you to explore and discover in a warm, non-judgmental environment.
I studied and gained my CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling with Strode College in Somerset after working as a care and support worker with people struggling with their mental health, people with learning disabilities and elders. Studying the therapeutic process in-depth felt very much like the natural way forward for me from my initial experience in those support roles.
I have worked as a counselor for Mind and New Dawn Counselling Agencies as well as working in Private Practice and continue to feel inspired by the many unique ways people move through difficult circumstances allowing change to unfold within.
I graduated from Winchester University with a BA 1st honors in Dance and Drama studies combined. Studying the arts taught me first hand just how powerful a tool our creativity can be for inspiring change, This has served as a strong foundation for supporting clients whom choose to involve creative play within their therapy.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and have professional development training in many different areas including Creative Therapy, Working with Children and Young people, Dance and Movement Therapy, working with Mental Health difficulties, working with eating disorders, working with trauma and sexual trauma and working with addiction. I am dedicated to regular-ongoing Continuing Professional Development.
