Arkadius Kyllendahl

Primary Location

I am a Clinical Psychology graduate (BPS), and an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (BABCP), with further training in Gestalt therapy, and Process Work Psychology. I have 17 years of experience as a psychotherapist. During this time I have worked for the NHS, as well as for charities, private sector, and in private practice. In addition to my own private practice in South West London, I am currently practising in Priory (a private psychiatric hospital in Woking).

In my practice I specialise in short and long-term counselling and psychotherapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy. I offer tailored and personalised treatments for a range of issues. Among them are day-to-day worries, such as, general anxiety and low self-esteem, assertiveness issues, life transitions and relationship difficulties. Among more complex psychological conditions that I treat are health anxiety, phobias, social anxiety, performance anxiety, depression, anger management, eating disorders, borderline personality disorder.

An area that I particularly specialise in is Spiritual psychotherapy. If you struggle with finding meaning in life, and if this leads to experiencing difficult emotions, such as anger, sadness, and grief Spiritual psychotherapy may relieve your suffering even if you are not a religious person. Spiritual Psychotherapy will help you to reduce and clear difficult emotions. It will help you to function from a place of loving kindness and compassion to yourself and others.

I offer individual, couples, and group psychotherapy.

My therapy rooms are in Wandsworth, South West London. I have an additional clinic in Woking.

In my service you can also pay for your therapy sessions through your private insurance provider. I accept clients with private insurance from: Aviva, AXA PPP Healthcare, Simplyhealth, PruHealth, Cigna, Vitality, Alianz, WPA, and Healix.

My work follows the guidelines of the National Institute of Clinical Excellence to provide effective treatment interventions.

Training, Qualifications and Experience

I have spent 12 years of my life in training, in order to achieve proficiency in helping individuals to regain their mental health. During this time I have trained to a masters level in both Clinical Psychology, Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy, and Religious Studies. Subsequently, I completed the training in two other psychotherapy schools, namely Gestalt and Process Work. This allows me to approach every client in a unique way, depending on their needs in treatment. As part of my integrative approach, I employ a variety of techniques, namely cognitive analysis and restructuring, behavioural analysis, role-play, empty chair and cathartic techniques, dream analysis and work, guided imagery, Socratic questioning, and addressing existential factors.
