I am hoping to provide a safe and relaxed space where my clients/patients feel supported and able to express themselves. Sometimes this means that I give more guidance to help my client find a way of talking abut themselves and what they are going through. Other times there is a great need to have the opportunity to say everything, all that has happened, without being interrupted. My job is to facilitate expression of thoughts and feelings, helping to better understand what is going on, and also support a process of change.
I have had the opportunity to work in many settings, starting with a charitable organisation that provides a 24-hour helpline for people in distress. This experience was valuable and spurred me on to learn more and engage with patients in other settings that needed help. In the NHS I work in Primary Care, with time-limited contracts (6-12 sessions) and in my private practice often open-ended. I offer talking therapy services to a range of health insurance companies such as BUPA, Nuffield Health, Aviva, COMPsych and EAPs (Employee Assistance Programs).
I’ve got long experience working in private practice and in the NHS in primary care. In my practice I meet a variety of patients and clients who present with a multitude of problems, some big, some small.
I hold a MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling from University of London, Birkbeck College.
I am an accredited therapist with the BACP.
I offer sessions from 7am on some mornings of the week, and evening sessions until 9pm some other days. Please contact me for details.
The initial consultation which is 90 minutes in duration is £125. Subsequent 50 minute sessions are £85.
